  So now what?

    December 21st.  2012. As each month passed by, the unsettling sound of that date chimed more urgently within our postmodern consciousness. Ancient prophecies had long foretold this would either be our Apocalyptic End or the Dawn of a Golden Age. As a Universalist, I tended to be an optimist, and envisioned the demise of the old dark ways and the beginning of the new light days. Yet, where is the revelation of what this new world will look like in 2013 and beyond? A Fresh Cup of Tolerance is that landscape.

    To see what’s inside, picture what humanity’s greatest spiritual teachers—Jesus, Buddha, White Buffalo Calf Woman, Muhammad, Kuan Yin, Moses, Mary, Krishna, et al—might address at a modern spiritual conference entitled, “Applying the Great Truths of All Time to the 21st Century.” We can just hear the passionate debates and respectful, earnest discussions as they update their Old Age truths into a post-modern New Age. The surprising outcome is a new theology of Universalism and tolerance; a Universalist Spiritual Manifesto sorely needed in a world of dividing ideologies and divided communities.
